Introduction
Allerdale House is a large Victorian house built in 1870 and now offers bed and breakfast accommodation with 5 bedrooms on the first floor and above. There are no ground floor bedrooms. Please see our rooms page for measurements and photographs of all rooms and public areas. All our bedrooms are en-suite.

Pre-Arrival
Allerdale House is a 5 minute level walk from Keswick town centre. Keswick’s main Bus Station is approximately 15 minutes walk from Allerdale House. Taxis are available. Penrith is the nearest Train Station approx 17 miles away. Regular Bus Services are available.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
Allerdale House has its own private car park with 5 parking spaces for guests. There is also unrestricted parking on Eskin Street.

Main Entrance & Reception
We only have one guest entrance at the front of the house with one small step leading into the house. The front door is usually locked and there is a door bell. Guests are given keys to the front door and their bedrooms. Our reception area leads to the main staircase and the Dining Room is on the right as you enter.

Public Areas-General
Allerdale House does not have a lift. All our bedrooms are upstairs on the first and second floors. All stairs have one banister rail (they do not have banisters on both sides). Allerdale House is carpeted throughout. The Guest Lounge & Dining Room are located on the ground floor.

Public Areas
There are no public toilets at Allerdale House.

Dining Room
Breakfast is served in the Dining Room on the ground floor, chairs & tables can be altered to suit different seating plans. Menus are available in the information books in bedrooms and on the board in the dining room. We do our best to cater for all needs and tastes but please let us know if you have any special requirements. Allerdale House is not licensed to provide alcohol.

Laundry
We cannot offer laundry facilities but are happy to help with drying wet clothing. There is a public launderette a two minute level walk away.

Bedrooms
All rooms are en-suite. There are two first floor bedrooms – room 6 and room 1 both with superking size four-poster beds. There are three second floor bedrooms, two with standard double beds and one superior kingsize bedded room. Some wardrobes are built in whilst others are free standing. All have dressing tables and storage space. All rooms have easy chairs. All double beds can be accessed from both sides and all have bedside lights. All our bedrooms are carpeted and have adjustable central heating and all windows are double glazed.

Bathrooms
All en-suites have a non slip safety lino flooring. Room 1 has a large corner shower with a small step to enter. Room 6 has a full size bath with overhead shower. Rooms 2 & 3 have shower trays with a small step to enter. Room 4 has a large walk in shower and separate bath. All have toilets, hand basins, heated towel rails, mirrors with lights and shaver sockets.

Additional Information
Allerdale House is fully compliant with all Fire Regulations. Fire safety notices are in all bedrooms and public areas and we ask our guests to read these. Should you need assistance in the event of the building been evacuated please inform us on arrival.
We operate a no smoking policy throughout all parts of the house, including e-cigarettes.
